REDMOND EYE CLINIC
ATROPINE MYOPIA CONTROL PROGRAM
Studies have shown that a low dose of Atropine, administered as eye drops in the evening, has the potential to significantly slow the progression of Myopia in children – helping prevent severe nearsightedness. Atropine 0.025% to 0.05% is a compounded medicated eye drop that, at these low concentrations, were safe, well tolerated and had minimal side effects.
It’s important to note that even with Atropine treatment for Myopia control, children will still require glasses or contact lenses to achieve clear vision. Atropine does not correct blurred vision caused by Myopia; its function is to only slow down the progression of Myopia.
